Percussion Ensembles

I have two percussion ensemble arrangements available from
Drop6 Media, Inc.

Parade of the Wooden Soldiers is a grade 1 treatment of the Leon Jessel classic for less experienced ensembles. It features the xylophone and the auxiliary percussion section.

Carol of the Cowbells is a mambo style treatment of the traditional Christmas favorite Carol of the Bells. It is a grade 4 piece, and features a vibraphone and drumset solo. Check out a recording here.

Marching Percussion

 I am available to write custom percussion arrangements for your band or percussion ensemble. I have been the percussion arranger for Lafayette High School since 2002 and have written for several other programs across Kentucky. For more information, contact me directly at: john@johnwillmarth.com.

See below for some examples of my composing/arranging for marching
percussion. Sandstorm is an original composition featuring the percussion
section from the Lafayette High School 2004 show, The Journey of Sheba. The American Times excerpt shows my writing on a Richard Saucedo arrangement of "I Got Rhythm." This show won the 2006 class 5A KY state championship. The cadences are of varying difficulty levels: "Groovasaurus Rex" is a grade 2 cadence with primarily unison writing in the bass drum part and "Wet Willy" is a grade 4 cadence for more advanced ensembles.
