I’m happy to say I’ve started a new position this year as the Director of Percussion and Steel Bands at Summerville High School in Summerville, South Carolina! A lot has been going on in the past couple of years. We’ve moved from Kentucky to Texas to South Carolina and had a baby along the way. Although it’s been busy, I’ve managed to publish several new arrangements and compositions including:
St. Nicholas (holiday ensemble)
The Funky Monkey (with CD accompaniment for beginning percussion ensemble)
Now the Day is Over (percussion ensemble available at tapspace.com)
The Blue Book (contributing author in a collection of rudimental solos)
Capture of the U-505 (for solo timpani)
Uganda Marimba (4 players on one marimba coming soon at drop6.com)
I also have several arrangements and compositions for marching percussion available at nightmusik.com

I’ve got two new percussion ensembles published with Drop6. “Que Nino es Esto?” is a latin treatment of “What Child is This” in an Afro-Cuban 12/8 feel. “The Sneaky Dog Blues” is an original composition about my oddball/loveable dog Molly. You can get more info in the “Compositions” section of my site.

I presented a drumset fundamentals clinic at the Kentucky Day of Percussion on March 8th. It was a “hands on” session which covered basic jazz, bossa nova and funk drumset styles. Thanks to all the students who participated! I’d also like to thank the Kentucky chapter of PAS and my sponsors: Evans, Innovative Percussion, and Yamaha. I’ve added the clinic materials under the drumset education section of my site for anyone who’s interested.
